maudeAs far back as I can remember teaching and animals have been recurring themes in my life.  Most of my childhood memories include at least one of the dogs who found a home with us or the longsuffering cat who endured us all.  My first summer job, assistant instructor of a kindergarten swimming class, introduced me to the joys of teaching and set me on the road to a career in speech pathology.  Graduating from Baylor University in Waco, Texas with a Bachelors of Science in Education and a Masters of Science in Speech Pathology I worked with many special children in residential facilities, public schools and for the last fourteen years in a wonderful small private practice in Ft. Worth, Texas.

In between speech therapy positions I obtained a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington.  While I learned much about the different aspects of business I realized that my heart was elsewhere.

My husband and I currently share our home with two Border Collies and one roving cat who is working diligently to get us properly trained.  Through the years much of my spare time has been devoted to a variety of canine endeavors.  The differences in breed, personality and age of the dogs have taken us in many directions from the first obedience class at age ten to therapy dog work, sheep herding, flyball, agility and Dog Scouts.   When not engaged in TTouch pursuits I enjoy spending time practicing yoga, teaching agility, reading, hiking, gardening, swimming and hanging out just about anywhere with my family and the dogs.
